With every film we watch comes a magnificent dish that enwraps both the meaning and the message of the film. On this page, I want to share those amazing recipes with you and I hope you enjoy them just as much as you enjoy these films!

                                          


1.  Omelette-Aux-Herb
from "The Hundred-Foot Journey" (2014)

After an attack on his family's restaurant, which results in his hands burned and in casts, Hassan (played by Manish Dayal) wants to make Madam Mallory (played by Helen Mirren) the perfect omelet. Although Hassan is unable to make it with his own hands, he guides her on how to make it, whilst adding his own special touch on such a classic dish. As Madame Mallory tastes the finished product, we watch her cold, hard shell melt away as she is overwhelmed with emotion.

Vianne's Many Roles Within "Chocolat"

It's without a doubt that Vianne Rocher is "the falcon" of Chocolat. She enters our story as a literal force of nature to be reckoned with. Just like her chocolates, Vianne is a mixture of many things; two of those things being of both French & Mayan descent. Some other important aspects of Vianne's character is that we see her cook and heal throughout the film. Because of Vianne and her cooking & healing, we see the French town of Lansquenet-sous-Tannes transform from drab and subdued to vibrant and full of life.    The role that I want to focus on is her role as a cook.
